FIRST, I LISTEN. Then
I create a plan specific to the individual California

since shortly after getting my first driver's license.
I remember buying my first bike, and getting on the road
with not much more than an explanation of how the controls
work. Even today, the same thing occurs, all over the
country. Kids are put on superbikes that even experts
find challenging. A good portion of the public has a negative
view of motorcyclists, and many of them fail to see a
motorcycle, because they don't expect one. Many police
reports fail because the officer lacks a basic understanding
of motorcycle accident mechanics. Witnesses routinely
overestimate the speed of a motorcyclist, because they
equate noise with speed, and because they are surprised
by the fact a motorcycle is there.
I've been co-chairman of a committee for the ABA on the
handling of large and complex cases, I've handled cases
where the understanding of motorcycle mechanics have saved
the day, I've ridden thousands of miles on many different
motorcycles, I've had motorcycle courses with the best,
and I've worked with the best motorcycle accident reconstruction
experts there are.
I believe that motorcyclists are one of the most mistreated
minorities left in the court system. They are misunderstood,
mistreated, and, because of the severity of injury, they
are the most in need of quality legal representation of
any group of its size. |
